Scientists have reported a brain-to-brain interface (BTBI) that enabled a real-time transfer of behaviorally meaningful sensorimotor information between the brains of two rats to create a computational unit out of two brains.

However, neuroscientists in the field of brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) have expressed critics on the report.
