The Bernstein Coordination Site of the National Bernstein Network Computational Neuroscience (NNCN) is looking for a Junior Scientist in Scientific Coordination / Management.


(full time, ranked according to salary level TV-L E13 of the German public employee system)
The Bernstein Network currently consists of about 180 research groups at 20 locations all over Germany, performing basic and applied research in all areas of Computational Neuroscience. Its research projects are funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The Bernstein Coordination Site supports the activities of the NNCN and contributes to its overall efficiency and international visibility by the professional organization of joint events and public relations activities. Beyond that, it serves as a liaison body between the NNCN, the Federal Ministry (BMBF) and the Project Management Office (PT- DLR).
Applicants should hold a PhD in neuroscience or a related field and should be interested in scientific coordination and management as well as public relations work. The position offers the opportunity to gain experience in these up-and-coming fields, to contribute own ideas and to form national and international contacts.
The post holder will support the exchange between network members by organizing joint scientific events and meetings. He/she will contribute to public relations activities by organizing events and exhibitions for the scientific and non-scientific public and by active communication with the public. He/she will write texts (esp. news and events) for the Bernstein Newsletter and will actively develop the contents of the network’s website (www.nncn.de ) further. In addition, he/she supports the Head of the Bernstein Coordination Site in all further activities. The position involves national and international travelling to network partners, funding organizations and conferences.
In accordance with the job description, reliable knowledge in relevant computer applications, competent communication skills and flexibility are major prerequisites.
