The Intelligent Systems Research Centre at the University of Ulster, Magee Campus, N. Ireland is looking for a suitably qualified researcher to conduct research in the area of brain-computer interfacing.
The applicant should have a degree in Electronic Engineering, Bio-medical Engineering, Computing Science, or a closely related discipline, or a higher degree in the same or closely related subjects. He/she should have excellent software skills as evidenced by the ability to design and create challenging software programs in C/C++ or Matlab and Simulink. The applicant should possess a thorough understanding of modern signal processing methods and techniques and have excellent mathematical skills. It is also required that the applicant has substantial experience in signal processing involving pre-processing, feature extraction and pattern recognition as demonstrated by at least two high quality peer–reviewed publications in quality research journals within the last 5 years. A strong track record of research publications related to the development of algorithms for robust and reliable interpretation of EEG/MEG/ECOG/NIRS signals using intelligent techniques would be a distinct advantage.
