Within the framework of a prestigious national program for research
the “Autonomous Robotics and Dynamical Systems Group” at the University of Minho offers a postdoctoral position in humanoid/anthropomorphic robotics.
The candidate is expected to develop new lines of research in relation to existing european and national projects which aim at building autonomous robots able to interact with humans on common tasks. A general theme of these multidisciplinary projects is to develop robot control architectures based on the processing principles underlying human behaviour in joint action.
Research activities will be related to the following topics:
• Computer/cognitive vision
• Reasoning processes (action understanding, plan recognition/goal inference, anticipation)
• Robotics manipulation (arm/hand system), motion control

Qualification and contract conditions:
Applicants should hold a PhD and and a minimum of three years of post-doctoral experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a solid background in robotics or computer vision and good knowledge in either mathematics or cognitive science.
Excellent programming skills are required. The working language is English.
The position can be filled immediately for a duration of up to fife years. The salary is highly competitive, in the order of 42.500 euros a year, including social security obligations. The position does not include teaching duties, but it is expected that the candidate contributes to the supervision and training of post-graduate students, including Ph.D candidates.
