The dpt of Computer Engineering of the Wilhelm-Schickard-Institute of the University of Tübingen offers a position starting October 1st, 2010.
Type: Research assistant (PhD student, E13 50%)


The position is available in the subproject C5 „Population Dynamics in Multi-Stable Perception“ of the Bernstein Center Tübingen „Neural Mechanisms of Perceptual Inference“ which is a part of the Bernstein Network Computational Neuroscience and funded by the BMBF. The focus of the Bernstein Center Tübingen is on investigating the mechanisms that enable the brain to produce a coherent percept based on sensory inputs.
Applicants should have a keen interest in the analysis of single neuron recordings and strong knowledge of the fields of artificial neural networks and machine learning, spiking neural networks and signal processing. They should possess programming experience with C/C++, Java, Matlab or related languages.
